A secret beach in Miami is actually a seven-acre, man-made Crystal Lagoons amenity built to emulate Caribbean

A stunning beach with sparkling turquoise water located far away from the crowds and hysteria of South Beach may be Miami’s best kept secret. And it is one of Crystal Lagoons® latest amenities to be inaugurated, known as Laguna Solé. The lagoon is the central piece of Solé Mia, a large scale mixed-use development, a new luxury property in North Miami between Biscayne Boulevard and Oleta River State Park.

But don’t let the white sands and crystalline water fool you, the calm and quiet beach is actually a massive seven-acre, man-made swimmable lagoon.

And it’s not just a sight to behold. The man-made lagoon is Florida’s latest engineering feat, setting a new precedent for luxury lagoons that are not only private and clean, they’re also helpful to the environment.

Crystal Lagoons is founded by real-estate developer and biochemist, Fernando Fischmann, who sought out to create an amenity that supported the environment but created a man-made beach paradise.

Laguna Solé is essentially its own private island, built to emulate the purity of the Caribbean waters, in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Miami life. It brings the luxury and views of waterfront living to a part of Miami that isn’t technically on the water.

And the lagoon is massive, boasting the size of 21 Olympic-sized pools or 17 blue whales.

Amenities at Laguna Solé include paddleboards, kayaks and luxury loungers. It has gently sloping beaches, a shallow area nestled next to a palm-fringed island and plenty of floats to play on.

The lagoon was built with the environment in mind. It uses 30 times less water than an 18-hole golf course and it uses 100 times fewer chemicals than a pool thanks to its new ultrasonic filtration system.

The pool also has the capability to be heated and is designed to imitate the breathtaking colors of Caribbean waters. At its deepest point, the pool is 12 feet deep at the center, and it even has an island in its structure.

Laguna Solé is located at Solé Mia, a $4billion, 184-acre master plan community built by the LeFraks of NY and the Soffers of South Florida.

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size clear water lagoons at very low costs.
