24 April, 2019 / News

Should you be planning your holidays on Bintan island, it’s time to visit Treasure Bay! So starts the article published by the Ministry of Tourism, Republic of Indonesia website Pesona Indonesia. Host to the largest artificial saltwater lagoon in all of Southeast Asia, it is powered by the multi-national Crystal Lagoons® technology, allowing visitors to swim, row a canoe along with a wide variety of motored watersports.

A pioneering amenity in Southeast Asia, found at the heart of the Treasure Bay Bintan project (on the island of Bintan just 20km from Singapore) the mixed-use resort totals 835-acres. In spite of having multiple gastronomic and hotel amenities, the main attraction is a crystalline lagoon with Crystal Lagoons technology. The body of turquoise water is surrounded by 1,400 meters of white sand beach.

Totaling 800 meters from one end to the other, the lagoon offers adrenaline fuelled activities for the entire family as well as more relaxing options.

Crystal Lagoons state-of-the-art technology can use any type of water: salt, fresh or brackish water, based on their availability.

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size clear water lagoons at very low costs.
