Crystal Lagoons® state-of-the-art water amenity has been recognized by France’s leading TV station, TF1, during its entertaining quiz show, Burger Quiz. The program’s guests discussed the multinational water innovation company’s lagoon in Algarrobo, just 100 km from Chile’s capital, as the world’s largest man-made crystal clear lagoon. San Alfonso del Mar, as the crystalline lagoon is known as, has been praised worldwide for its installations ideal for swimming in, as well as practicing a wide range of waters ports. The lagoon’s monumental dimensions were awarded the Guinness World Record until 2015.

Fernando Fischmann, the firm’s founder and president, created a pioneering and environmentally sustainable technology for San Alfonso del Mar, which today is patented worldwide in over a 190 countries. This pioneering technology allows for crystalline lagoons of unlimited sizes to be built and maintained at very low costs anywhere in the world, using a minimum amount of additives and energy. This patented solution consists of applying controlled pulses of small amounts of safe additives in the water of the lagoons, in very specific patterns that are determined by their own algorithms. This way, it is not necessary to maintain a high and permanent level of disinfection in the water.

This same technology has also been applied to the current world record for largest man-made crystalline lagoon, currently awarded to Citystars Sharm El Sheikh, located in Egypt’s Sinai Desert. The pure turquoise water amenity spans over 29 acres.

Yet a third world record for the U.S., Miami-based innovation company is expected soon.Once officially inaugurated, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City, District One – part of the master development popularly known as Meydan, in Dubai –, anchored by a 100-acre paradise-like lagoon, is set break yet another world record.

Crystal Lagoons is an American multinational innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size clear water lagoons at very low costs.
