Crystal Lagoons speaks about growth plans in Australia
10 February, 2017 / NewsCrystal Lagoons Regional Director, German Rocca, to talk about the role of water lagoons in the future of property development.
Crystal Lagoons allows for the construction and maintenance of crystal-clear lagoons of unlimited size at a low costs. The firm completed their first lagoon in a development called San Alfonso del Mar, Chile. The developer was also the founder of Crystal Lagoons. He wanted to create the idyllic beach lifestyle next to a Chilean coastline which had dangerous currents, unfit for swimming.
He took this salt water and placed it inside a lagoon. After many attempts, he finally found the formula which from night to day turned murky waters into a tropical turquoise colour. The value of the development sky-rocketed.
What about sustainability?
Rocca’s team says that “…having received many awards for sustainability, Crystal Lagoons provides an eco-friendly solution in the form of a top quality amenity…”
Their technology uses only 2% of the energy consumed by the average water filtration system while using 100 times less chemicals. It uses 1/2 of the water used by a park and 30times less water than a golf course. In the long run, this creates minimal maintenance costs.
Role in Australia
Rocca says the technology provides a solution to many problems we face in some of our Australian coasts (such as jellyfish, crocs, sharks, etc.). Also, inland developments can now create the so-desired beach lifestyle. Crystal Lagoons is able to turn any water source (salt, brackish, well…) and turn it into a crystal-clear oasis.
Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystal clear lagoons at very low costs.
