ABC, one of the main TV channel in US, broadcasted a story with the opening of the first crystal clear lagoon in the country held last Thursday, January 18. The much anticipated first-ever Crystal Lagoons® amenity in the nation is full in Florida as Crystal Lagoons U.S., Corp. and Metro Development Group team up to bring the world’s top amenity to the U.S. for the first-time ever. Metro Development Group hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to commemorate the first Crystal Lagoons® amenity in the U.S. at the Epperson community, located in Wesley Chapel, Florida, near Tampa.
Crystal Lagoons®, a multinational innovation company, is revolutionizing the global real estate and entertainment market with its patented technology that allows real estate developers to build massive, man-made, idyllic lagoons that bring a Caribbean-style beachfront experience to locations all over the world. The Epperson lagoon will soon have exciting features such as a waterslide, private cabanas, in-water obstacle platform, tidal pool, restaurant, family beach, yoga lawn, an entertainment plaza and an area for special events. Epperson will have 2,000 homes upon completion and has generated unprecedented sales demand. The first 400 lots sold out just after 45 days of the lagoon announcement which triggered a waiting list of more than 3,000 potential buyers.

The crystal-clear waters span several acres and are surrounded by white sandy beaches, which make them the ideal amenity for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and sailing in a safe and fun environment. This sustainable technology earned the U.S. Green Fast Track for Patents as it uses less water and less energy than swimming pools. A typical lagoon will use 50 percent less water than a park of the same size and 30 times less water than an 18-hole golf course. Additionally, it consumes 100 times less chemicals than a swimming pool and up to 50 times less energy than conventional pool filtration systems.
Metro Development Group partnered with Crystal Lagoons® to be the first developer to bring these idyllic lagoons to the U.S. and has announced five Metro Lagoon communities planned for Florida, beginning with Epperson. An exciting grand opening celebration for the first Crystal Lagoons® amenity in the U.S. is scheduled for early spring where Crystal Lagoons® Global Ambassador Michael Phelps is scheduled to appear. Crystal Lagoons® recently teamed up with the 23-time Olympic Gold Medalist with the goal of bringing swimming and water sports activities to communities around the world.
