Crystalline lagoons in five continents

The San Alfonso del Mar touristic project in Algarrobo faced a critical problem in the beginning: a dangerous and forbidden beach for swimming because of the waves. The challenge was to make a real estate mega project that could potentially compete with the others that were already under construction by the beach.

Faced with this huge challenge, businessman Fernando Fischmann devised to make out a lagoon similar to tropical seas, with crystalline turquoise water, suitable for swimming and which replace the sea.

Fischmann, scientist and biochemist by profession, traveled the world looking for the type of crystalline lagoon he imagined. But it didn´t exist, they were always murky and unattractive for bathing. Moreover, given the volumes of water needed, it was not feasible to occupy the technology of filtration and chlorination of traditional pools, as San Alfonso required filling a lagoon equivalent to six thousand pools. After seven years of study and testing, Fischmann finally got his goal. The technology required 100 times less chemicals and energy needed for water filtration went down to 2% of the occupied under a conventional system. Also, he got the water to be about 10 degrees warmer than the sea in summer and you could practice in it water sports, scuba diving and swimming in a tropical environment with pristine waters and in a safe environment.

Currently Crystal Lagoons has a portfolio of 300 projects around the world, whether urban, touristic, governmental or industrial, in various stages of development, with presence on five continents and in 60 countries such as USA, Indonesia, Singapore, Egypt, Jordan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Oman, Dubai, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Paraguay, Ecuador and Paraguay, among others. The firm is associated with major international real estate developers. One of the projects of Crystal Lagoons is developing aquaculture on land, so fish farming could be developed on land.
