Oman focuses on sustainable tourism with Crystal Lagoons

2 March, 2018 / News

Renowned U.A.E. outlet Gulf News has recently published a story about the important efforts made by Oman to boost sustainable tourism with new infrastructure projects, Crystal Lagoons® being one of the main players.

Crystal Lagoons, multinational water-innovation company, will build in Oman one of their main Middle East projects: a five-hectare man-made lagoon that will become the core feature of Al Nakheel (ITC). The latter is the result of a deal made with Palm’s Beach Company. The works on the lagoon will start during the first quarter of the year.

The project will supplement Wilayat of Barka as an important touristic destiny, being a place that already attracts plenty of tourists coming from the capital, Muscat.

In Oman, Crystal Lagoons technology will also be used by a 50-hectare multimillion dollar mix-use project, in partnership with Alargan Towell Investment Company. The project will feature a 40-hectare manmade lagoon as main attraction, apart from three hotels, apartments units, shopping areas and a series of other amenities.

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystal clear lagoons at very low costs.
