While The Blyde in Riverwalk Estate has the honour of hosting the first clear-water lagoon in Southern Africa – the technology is being touted to other nations on the continent, following its inaugural success.
Other lagoons already in Africa include the Sharm El Sheikh development in Egypt, which, in 2015, was awarded a Guinness World Record for the largest man-made lagoon in the world.
It’s been reported that Senegal and Kenya are to be the next African nations to welcome a crystalline lagoon.
