Dubai is one destination that never fails to impress. One of the milestones that will stand out in 2020 will be the opening of the world’s largest lagoon with Crystal Lagoons® technology.

The crystalline lagoon will be located in the Mohammed Bin Rashid City – District One project. It will have 40 hectares when finished by 2020 and it will set Crystal Lagoons’ third world record. The water feature will be seven kilometers long and will be surrounded by white sand beaches and hiking and biking trails. The environs will have lush green landscaping, giving the impression of being in a true oasis.

But this will not be the only record the project will have. In addition to boasting the world’s largest crystalline lagoon, will set the world’s tallest residential tower with the highest 360-degree observation deck sitting 711 meters above ground level, the highest restaurant at 675 meters, the longest indoor ski slope that will be 1.2 kilometers long, and the largest dancing fountain at 420 meters.

The mega lagoon will also be surrounded by corporate towers, industrial parks, sport facilities, a public park larger than London’s Hyde Park, water parks, the “Meydan Mall” –the world’s largest–, over 100 hotels and 1,500 new super luxury residential condominiums, with housing prices from US$ 7 million and US$ 12 million.

The project is under development by Crystal Lagoons in partnership with a joint venture of Meydan Group and Sobha, India’s most important real estate and construction firm.

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size clear water lagoons at very low costs.
