Crystal Lagoons Project In South Africa Receives Important Real-Estate Awards

On June 12th, 2019, Balwin Properties, one of South Africa’s leading construction companies, was awarded four prestigious international real estate prizes. The Blyde Riverwalk Estate, a project developed together with Crystal Lagoons®, received “Best Leisure Architecture South Africa 2019-2020” and “Leisure Development South Africa 2019-2020”.

The International Property Awards seek to reward leading real estate companies, architects, interior designers and real estate professionals in Dubai, Africa and Arabia. The companies, representing 28 countries, received their awards at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square.

The CEO of the construction company, Steve Brookes, in a recent interview with the national South African newspaper, Business Day, stressed the company’s achievements, despite the country’s sluggish economic growth. In fact, he explained that the firm’s best sales performance was achieved at The Blyde, Pretoria, highlighting Crystal Lagoons as a decisive factor.

“Sales rates are significantly exceeding the development average of approximately 25 apartments per month. The success of The Blyde is largely as a result of the opening of the Crystal Lagoons amenity during 2018, the first of its kind in sub-Saharan Africa. We are very proud of this initiative and look forward to many more opportunities to emulate this success”, said Brookes.
