Tampa Bay’s Second Crystal Lagoons Amenity Begins Construction in Wimauma

10 June, 2019 / News

The condo complex, known as Southshore Bay, is soon be the second Florida community with its own crystalline lagoon powered by Crystal Lagoons® technology.

As part of a growing trend, active adult community amenities are on the rise. In this case, buyers looking for Tampa Bay real estate in a 55+ community now have two options in the area that offer monumental man-made crystalline lagoons.

The Southshore Bay development, in Wimauma, will join Mirada in San Antonio, both in Florida, as the second 55+ community to offer a luxurious and relaxing lagoon covering several acres.

An idyllic lagoon

The technology that delivers crystalline water features to the manufactured lagoon was created by Crystal Lagoons, a multinational innovation company. It’s environmentally-friendly, using less energy, less water, and fewer chemicals than what you’d find in a public swimming pool. In fact, the lagoons require 30 times less water than an 18-hole golf course and 100 times fewer chemicals than a traditional pool thanks to its avant-guard, low-cost ultrasonic filtration system.

The lagoon under construction in Medley at Southshore Bay will be 5,5 acres and designed with the needs and desires of active adults in mind, and developers envision a structure where residents can pay a minimal monthly fee to use the lagoon. It will likely cost residents as little as US $30 per month.

In addition to the pure turquoise lagoon, other amenities at Southshore Bay include a clubhouse with a fitness center and multipurpose rooms, tennis courts, a dog park, and a volleyball court.

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size clear water lagoons at very low costs.
